If supply voltage rises but the connected equipment does not immediately draw enough current to cross the breaker&#8217;s time-current curve, the breaker can remain closed while sensitive electronics experience damaging electrical stress. During undervoltage, a motor may draw more current to produce the required torque, but the exact response depends on the motor, load and controller.
